Project Management Powerhouse at a Down-to-Earth Price

Guy Software has released PlanBee Pro v. 2.0, an intuitive critical-path project management planning tool that provides PERT, GANTT, and spreadsheet views of your project. With the features and customization normally available only in high-end project management programs, PlanBee Pro provides project management power, without the steep learning curve or high price.

It’s easy to enter project information using PlanBee Pro’s familiar spreadsheet format. Once task names, time estimates, and dependencies have been captured, the program calculates early start, late start, early finish, and late finish dates. Float time is identified, and the project’s critical path activities are highlighted.

In addition to the spreadsheet format, PlanBee Pro gives you one-click access to a PERT chart which shows graphically the workflow, interdependencies, and critical path. The PERT chart window can be easily scaled to give you the big picture, or to zoom in on any time period. You can even edit project tasks in the PERT view. PlanBee Pro also has a built-in Gantt chart view of your project. Using bar charts to display interdependencies, the Gantt chart is scalable and available for immediate viewing or printing.

All of the key planning assumptions may be customized to fit each user’s environment, including the definition of work-days and national holidays. Individual activities may be assigned fixed start or end dates. It’s easy to import task data into PlanBee Pro, and reports can be exported for use in word processing or other software.

With its enhanced support for managing large projects in the corporate environment, new features in version 2.0 include: resource allocation and leveling; cost management at the project and three sub-project levels; the ability to add notes to tasks, cost account codes, and manager names; appending a unique key to individual tasks for exporting data to external database management software; a variety of date formats; automatic emphasis as an aid in selecting information to export; hiding and deactivating dependency links grouped into families; and integration of master and project-level resource lists.

Whether you need to create a project plan that quickly identifies critical tasks and interdependencies, or you have a massive project whose costs and complexities need to be understood by managers throughout the enterprise, PlanBee Pro provides the project management tools that you need.

PlanBee Pro v. 2.0 runs under Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP, costs $69.98(US), and may be purchased securely online at http://www.guysoftware.com/. Multi-user and site licenses are available. Users who do not have huge projects, and who do not require resource allocation and leveling, costing functions, or other advanced features, may purchase PlanBee Basic for $29.98(US). You can download a free, fully-functional 30-day trial version of PlanBee Pro from http://www.guysoftware.com/.
